🌱 Franklin Pride Denies Equip + Two Men Assault Officer During Arrest

Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. Equip, a nonprofit that offers consultation and coaching to churches on LGBTQ+ topics, has been denied participation in Franklin Pride. Pieter Valk and Equip were accepted through the organization but were canceled 10 days later. According to Valk, Equip was denied participation due to its "harmful" and "shaming" message.   2. According to police, two men assaulted a Franklin Police officer during an arrest. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning during a drunk driving arrest at Baker's Bridge. Eion Graham and Nikolas Sowden will appear in court on Jul. 7 regarding various charges that include DUI, resisting arrest, and assaulting a First Responder. (WSMV4)
  3. A Franklin native has been appointed as district chairman of the Natchez Trace District of the Boy Scouts of America. Eric Strickland will lead the Williamson County district that offers five unique Scouting programs. Strickland is a member of Franklin First United Methodist Church and is the CEO of 3LS, Inc.
