Franklin Sets 2 Riverfront Planning Open Houses
Franklin is seeking public input on a potential riverwalk and future development between Pinkerton and Bicentennial parks.

FRANKLIN, TN — The City of Franklin wants input on the future of the Harpeth River floodplain and is hoping the public has some good ideas to offer.
The city will be hosting two open houses February 27 — between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4:30 and 7 p.m. — in the hallways of city hall.
The city and its contractor Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon will be collecting "opinion, feedback, and suggestions from the general public regarding their desired vision for downtown Franklin along the Harpeth River," according to a press release. Possibilities for the stretch of riverfront between Pinkerton Park and Bicentennial Park include a riverwalk or potential development.

These sessions are among the first steps in a study which hopes to identify areas within the floodplain that may be appropriate for development, to understand the community vision for the area and to provide recommendations for the future of the area.
