Friday night rain in Franklin brings in much colder temperatures for the weekend.

FRANKLIN, TN — A much colder weekend rolls in after Friday night's rain, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Franklin. A freeze watch is in effect Saturday night.

Friday night: A slight chance of showers before 9 p.m., then better chances of rain and maybe a thunderstorm before 3 a.m. South wind of 10 to 15 mph veers northwest after midnight, with gusts up to 20 mph. Low of 40.

Saturday: Sunny and cooler, high of 51. Northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Mostly clear after dark and much colder, with patchy frost after 2 a.m., low of 28.
