Good Ol' Summer Time

Summer Time

I did something for Joni last week and it was so much fun! I volunteered for 4-H to do a two hour activity with some of the kids in the community. It was a blast! I think it's a great activity to do with kids any age. These guys were creative and had fun painting the canvas and we painted a Journal to take home, too.You should make a list of words to prompt your children in to thinking about I AM......most kids when you ask them are shy about it, but this group loved the sheet, circled all the things they were going to paint on their canvas. When they were finished I looked around to see if anyone had added a word of their own, there was one, their word was Creative and that they all were! I left feeling full and happy bringing this activity to them. This is what we did:First, with pencil, drew waves. You'll notice everyone designed different. waves. Then, they painted in their waves (we used a smaller brush so it took some time for them to paint and just reflect) Next, when the canvas was dry some painted a black trim around their waves and some used a marker. Finally, they painted or drew with a marker all their words for I AM....It was fun to watch them create their masterpiece to take home!

Summer can be daunting for some parents with a work schedule, camps and ways to engage their children in activities that will empower them and impact them in a positive fashion. Our books are geared for our early learners and we have activity books and a Reflection Journal for the elementary aged children. They are perfect to introduce our nine animal traits to your children and prompt them on their way to good character!
