🌱 Hit And Run Kills One + Meharry's Mobile Vaccine Operation

Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Elm Hill Pike on Friday night. 37-year-old Kathryn Stewart was walking in the right-hand lane of Elm Hill Pike, approximately a half-hour north of Franklin, when she was struck by a pickup truck. The pickup initially fled the scene, but later returned to tell officers that he was the driver involved. The driver, Michael Crockett, was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. (WKRN News 2)
  2. Meharry Medical Group's Mobile Vaccine Operation (MVO) has administered more than 5,000 free vaccinations and booster shots to Middle Tennessee residents. Under the MVO, medical professionals travel to churches, businesses, and nonprofits across the state to offer the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.   3. A man, Charles Gipson, was charged with attempted murder after shooting a woman and leaving her in a ditch north of Franklin. A passerby found the victim, who had been shot multiple times, lying in a ditch on Knight Drive on the night of Jan. 10. She was then rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. The investigation revealed that Gipson and the victim got into a verbal dispute, during which Gipson ordered the victim to get out of her car. (WKRN News 2)
