Jury Duty Scam Returns To Williamson County

The prepaid card con is back again in Williamson County,

FRANKLIN, TN — The jury duty/prepaid card scam is circulating through Williamson County once again, according to the sheriff's department.

The con artists call and claim to be a lieutenant or captain with the sheriff's department and say that the resident missed jury duty and runs the risk of arrest unless a payment is made using a prepaid card.

In one Williamson County incident, the conman told the victim to buy $3,000 in prepaid cards and recite the numbers on the back; the money was gone in a matter of seconds and the victim was emailed an invoice.
