Here are the top stories today in Franklin:
- A 26-year-old man was arrested and two other suspects are on the run following an armed robbery in Franklin Sunday night. Officers were called to the Master Market on Columbia Avenue around 9 p.m. after a witness reportedly saw two masked men walk into the store. Franklin Police reported Tyshawn Hoesay, 26, and another suspect "roughed up" the convenience store clerk and used a gun to repeatedly threaten to kill him during what officials described as a "violent robbery."(WKRN News 2)
- On Saturday a group of hundreds gathered on Franklin's town square to dedicate a new monument. Entitled "March to Freedom," the bronze statue depicts a United States Colored Troops soldier carrying a rifle, with one foot propped on a stump. At his feet lie shackles; his gaze looks forward, conveying a sense of determination. (Williamson Herald)
- According to reports, an HVAC worker had to be rescued by Franklin firefighters from a medical building last Friday afternoon. (Williamson Herald)
