Murfreesboro Woman Arrested For Allegedly Shoplifting from Cool Springs Macy's

Franklin Police, who are running extra patrols at Cool Springs, say the 20-year-old stole $500 in merchandise from the department store.

FRANKLIN, TN — A Murfreesboro woman is free on bond after being charged with stealing more than $500 from the Macy's at Cool Springs Galleria.

Franklin Police say Nia Jones, 20, was seen concealing and then leaving the department store with the purloined items and was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. Monday. She is free on a $2,500 bond.

Franklin Police are using both uniformed and plain-clothes officers in an effort to cut down on holiday shoplifting, identity theft, auto burglary, and other crimes that typically increase during busy shopping periods. Extra patrols have been deployed to several of the city's most popular shopping districts.
