- The Natchez Social community center celebrated an early Christmas this weekend as they distributed free holiday gifts to hundreds of children and their families in downtown Franklin. Christmas music played on the historic Natchez Street and the surrounding community, where families lined the block to check in and receive the presents they've been waiting for. Franklin resident Samantha Shepherd, the Franklin Community Church, its pastor Kevin Riggs, and local volunteers worked for months to fundraise and shop for the hundreds of requested gifts from families in need this holiday season. - It's a great week to enjoy some outdoor activities in Franklin! Leading up to the holiday weekend, locals can expect sunshine and temperatures reaching the high 40s and 50s. On Wednesday and Thursday, be prepared for wind gusts of up to 12 mph. (Franklin Patch)
- After 20 years of dedicated service as the Chief of the Williamson County Rescue Squad and 30 years overall on the Squad, Todd Bowman retired on Dec. 7. At this month's Membership Meeting of the Williamson County Rescue Squad, Bowman was presented with an ax and plaque thanking him for his years of service as chief of the department. Although Bowman is retiring as Chief, he plans to remain a Lifetime Member of the Williamson County Rescue Squad, as well as operate Bowman's Transmission Shop in Franklin. (Williamson Source)
