Here are the top 3 stories today in Franklin:

  1. The newly renovated ALDI will reopen in Franklin on Thursday, May 12. The store has incorporated a new, easy-to-navigate layout and an abundance of refrigeration to maximize guests' food selection experience. The whole store was constructed using eco-friendly materials and the new layout features lots of natural light to improve the store's aesthetic. By the end of this year, ALDI plans to open 150 new stores and become one of the largest grocery retailers in the country. (Williamson Source)
  2. Food Network legend Guy Fieri will be in Nashville this evening to stop by his restaurant, Chicken Guy. Fieri will be visiting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 139 2nd Avenue N, just a short drive from Franklin. Bring the whole family for some good food and a chance to meet the brain behind the flavor! (News Channel 5 Nashville)
  3. After a 17-year hibernation period, Brood X cicadas are back in the Franklin area. Even though there are lots of cicadas who make their return each summer, this 17-year species comes out on a much larger scale than the other species. Franklin citizens, along with other residents of central and Eastern Tennessee, should prepare for the bugs to be more populous this year.
