Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. City leaders recently discussed the regulation of groups on Franklin's public square after a man's worship became the source of controversy. Using equipment to amplify worship music, Jeff Daniels has spent many Saturday nights on the square in downtown Franklin to join other citizens in worship services. According to City Administrator Eric Stuckey, the municipality's staff have received complaints from multiple sources — including the Downtown Franklin Association. (Subscription: The Tennessean)
  2. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office welcomes Bolo the therapy dog to its team. Complete with his badge, Bolo will be patrolling Williamson County Schools and Franklin Special School District, bringing smiles to those he meets. Nashville K-9 and an anonymous family donated Bolo to the sheriff's office to have him serve as a therapy dog in the schools. (News Channel 5 Nashville)
  3. Leadership Franklin scholarship applications are open until Mar. 3. High school seniors and current college students in Williamson County can apply for a $1,500 scholarship awarded by Leadership Franklin. Selection is based on a combination of the strength and quality of the essay, extra-curricular activities, and grade point average. (williamsonherald.com)

  • Williamson Medical Center's hospital officials announced its family of health care organizations and providers will now go by its new brand name: Williamson Health. Additionally, the Williamson Medical Center Foundation will now be known as the Williamson Health Foundation. (Franklin Tomorrow via Facebook)
