Here are the top stories today in Franklin:

  1. The Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced its campaign for "No Trash November," a month-long statewide initiative encouraging Tennesseans to participate in cleanup events in their communities. Residents are invited to join various public events being held across the state. Individuals, groups, and organizations interested in the free program may visit the Adopt-A-Highway map to view available routes in their community. (tn.gov)
  2. The Franklin Police Department is now accepting donations for their Christmas toy drive. Unwrapped toys for children can be left in the Franklin Police Headquarters lobby, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., between now and Dec. 15. The drive is held in honor of good Samaritans Kristi Clark and her 10-year-old son Carter Oakley, both of whom were killed in an accident while trying to help five people in an overturned vehicle. 3. On Nov. 8, FrankTalks will be hosting City of Franklin Administrator Eric Stuckey for an informative "City Hall on Wheels" session. Stuckey and his guests will discuss what has occurred in the city in 2021, what lies ahead for the rest of the year, and even some predictions for 2022. Seats are limited, so RSVPing in advance is encouraged. (Franklin Tomorrow)
