Man Killed By Williamson County Deputy In Franklin Shooting
A Williamson County Sheriff's Deputy shot and killed a man on the Goose Creek Parkway/Peytonsville Road overpass Tuesday

FRANKLIN, TN — A Williamson County Sheriff's Department deputy shot and killed a man on the Peytonsville Road/Goose Creek Bypass Wednesday morning.

TBI Director Mark Gwyn said Franklin Police were in pursuit of the man, who has not been identified pending notification of the next-of-kin, who was reportedly driving a stolen car, along Lewisburg Pike and Henpeck Lane. The FPD broke off its chase around 9:40 a.m., which was then picked up by sheriff's deputies. Gwyn said the man got out of his car, "brandished a gun" and was shot by the deputy, who has also not been identified. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gwyn said three deputies were on the scene and one suffered leg injuries which required hospitalization.
