Here are the top stories in Franklin today:

  1. A 17-year-old high school student drove a vehicle into Centennial High School yesterday, closing the school. Damages are reportedly over $10,000. The student has been charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to report a crash, and felony evading. (franklinpdnews.com)
  2. Franklin's First Missionary Baptist Church invites our community to join a program commemorating the life and times of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, on Monday at 11:00 AM. The program's theme will be "Where Do We Go From Here?" and will take place in the public square. Please click for more details. (Williamson Source)
  3. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28 to midnight on Jan. 29. The checkpoint will be on Franklin Road between Meadow Lake Road and Wilson Pike Circle. This will be a multi-jurisdictional operation seeking to promote traffic safety. According to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, 21.9 percent of 2021 fatal and serious crashes were alcohol related. (williamsonherald.com)
