Stay Calm and Be Like ME

Stay Calm and Be Like ME

BEHAVE! Is something kids hear almost every day. When they are on their way to a friends house you may say, BEHAVE, or if they are on their way to school, you may say BEHAVE or even when they are going with to visit family or friends, you may say BEHAVE.

STOP! What does that mean? When a child only hears behave and their behaviors don't live up to your expectations, it's on you. YOU must explain to your children what you're asking when you tell them to behave. Makes good sense yet life gets busy and we just assume that our children understand what we tell them, therefore, WE need to make sure our conversations, our expectations and our guidance is understood, it's much easier in the long run when we take a moment today to teach our children than it is to argue with them later on. Have you ever considered a Certificate of Achievement for their good behavior, it'll put a bounce in their step and a smile on your face! Or, have you read stories, had talks and even asked them what they think good behavior is? Is your child more visual, this blog may help.
