Williamson County Changes School Start Times For 2017-18

All high schools will begin at 7:40 next year, with some elementary schools not dismissing until nearly 4 p.m.

FRANKLIN, TN — Williamson County students will see a change in school start and end times in the 2017-18 school year.

With research indicating that older adolescents perform better in school with later start times, Director of Schools Mike Looney began exploring rescheduling options, though the school district does not have the resources to transport elementary students simultaneously with middle and high schoolers, hamstringing some of the more ambitious efforts.
