• Publix is changing its express lanes. Will Tennessee stores follow? (commercialappeal.com) — Publix's Goodlettsville store on Long Hollow Pike is among the Tennessee locations where the chain is rolling out a new express-lane policy with no item limit. The company says the change is meant to cut wait times, but shoppers and employees are divided, debating whether express lanes should still prioritize customers with just a few items. 
• Here's when the food tax rate will decrease in Nashville (wsmv.com) — If you live on the Davidson County side of Goodlettsville, your local sales tax on groceries will drop Nov. 1 as part of a countywide cut. The combined state and local rate on qualifying food will fall to 5.75%, though prepared foods, alcohol, tobacco, and supplements won't see any change.
