2 Arrested In Lipscomb Carjacking

Metro Police arrested two 18-year-olds for the carjacking of a 63-year-old woman on Lipscomb's campus.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police arrested two 18-year-olds believed to be involved in the carjacking of a 63-year-old woman on Lipscomb University's campus August 5.

Brendon Prettyman, 18, was arrested Friday night. Justin Webb, 18 was arrested Saturday. Both are charged with robbery-carjacking. Prettyman and Webb live at the same Glendale Lane address.

The night of the incident, the 63-year-old woman was leaving Lipscomb Academy, where she works, in her blue 2003 Hyundai Sonata when she stopped on the university campus to text a family member around 11 p.m.

While she was texting, one of the suspects tapped on her driver side window with a handgun, telling her to get out of the car, she told police.

As she reached for her purse prior to exiting the vehicle, a second suspect appeared on the passenger side and told her “you’re not taking that.” She got out of the car and noticed a third suspect nearby when the gunman told her to run. She called police from a nearby residence while suspects fled in her Sonata.

Police are still looking for two other suspects.
