Davidson County Unemployment Rate Up Slightly, Still Best Among Tennessee Metros
Nashville and its surrounding counties have the state's lowest jobless figures.

NASHVILLE, TN — Davidson County's unemployment rate was up 0.2 percent in August to 3.8 percent, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
That's better than every other county in the state, save Williamson County, where the rate is 3.7 percent. Of the ten lowest county-level figures statewide, nine were in Middle Tennessee and the six lowest were Davidson County and five of its neighboring counties.
Davidson County is tops among the state's four largest metros, besting Knoxville's Knox County (4.3 percent), Chattanooga's Hamilton County (5 percent) and Memphis' Shelby County (5.7 percent).
