Nashville's Gordon Jewish Community Center Receives Another Bomb Threat

For the second time in nine days, Nashville's JCC and others nationwide were evacuated after a bomb threat.

NASHVILLE, TN — For the second time in a little more than a week, Nashville's Gordon Jewish Community Center was evacuated for a bomb threat. As with the earlier incident, the threat in Nashville is one of several received by JCCs around the country.

Metro Police were called the the JCC on Percy Warner Boulevard after a threatening phone call came in around 9:30 a.m. The building was safely evacuated and police gave the all clear around 10:30.

Mark Freedman, the executive director of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, told The Tennessean the threat was one of several reported from around the country Wednesday. The JCC Association of North America said there 28 threats across the country Wednesday.

On January 9, the Gordon JCC was evacuated for nearly two hours after a similar threat, one of several reported that day throughout the United States.
