Pedestrian Killed in Bellevue New Year's Eve Crash
A 66-year-old man crossing Old Hickory Boulevard died after being hit by a Chevy Silverado.
BELLEVUE, TN — A 66-year-old man died after being hit by a truck in Bellevue Saturday night. Metro Police said Jose Escobar was crossing Old Hickory Boulevard near Highway 70 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver of the truck, William Darden, 62, said he did not see Escobar, who was returning to his nearby apartment after shopping at Kroger. Police said the accident, which happened during Saturday night's rain, was 500 feet from the nearest crosswalk.
Darden was not impaired, police said, and no charges are expected.
