Rape, Kidnapping Reported At Belmont-Area Apartment
Metro Police are looking for a man who allegedly raped, assaulted and kidnapped a woman on Portland Avenue Monday.
NASHVILLE, TN — A 25-year-old woman was assaulted, raped and kidnapped from her Portland Avenue apartment Monday, according to Metro Police. Detectives have have identified Jason Jarrell Williams, 31, as the suspect and obtained warrants for especially aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
The woman was awoken in her apartment by a man who was carrying a razor blade. Police said the man sexually assaulted and cut the woman.
The man then forced the woman to drive him to an ATM on 21st Avenue and then to McIver Street off Nolensville Pike in South Nashville. He then fled into a church parking lot.

The victim drove back to her apartment and called police.
Investigators believe the door to the woman's apartment may have been unlocked. Blood found in the victim's apartment is being analyzed and police are also scouring her car for evidence. After examining ATM surveillance footage, police identified Williams, who is also suspected by Vanderbilt University Police for stealing a backpack from the lobby of Wilson Hall last week.
