West End Apartment Fire Sparked By Rogue Paper Lantern
An early morning roof fire led to the evacuation of the Acklen West End Sunday.

NASHVILLE, TN — The roof was on fire — the culprit: a paper lantern gone rogue — at the Acklen West End apartments early Sunday, sending the high-end complexes residents into the darkness for nearly an hour.
After noticing a small fire on the roof of the building on Acklen Park Drive, a resident pulled the fire alarm around 12:30 a.m. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the blaze; no one was injured and no units were damaged.

Nevertheless, the renters of the high-rise had to wait outside for an hour. Investigators say a paper lantern found on the roof may have been the cause.
