West End Fire Likely Caused By Careless Smoker

Fire investigators believe a Wednesday afternoon fire on West End started from an unextinguished butt.

NASHVILLE, TN — A small fire at a West End office building likely began due to a smoker's carelessness.

Nashville Fire crews responded to the blaze at 3310 West End Wednesday afternoon and found flames six to seven feet high coming from the side of the building. Firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly.

No one was injured. Because the fire started near the smoking area of the building, investigators suspect an unextinguished cigarette caused the blaze.
