West Meade Home Destroyed in Fire

Homeowners escaped a Vosswood Drive house fire Monday night.

NASHVILLE, TN — A home on Vosswood Drive in West Meade was destroyed in a fire Monday night. The homeowners and a dog escaped, but some of the family's cats are still missing.

More than a dozen Nashville firefighters were on the scene at the fire that broke out around 9:40 p.m. Monday. Investigators believe the fire started in a lower-level garage before spreading to the rest of the house, eventually reaching the attic. Flames then burst through the roof.

Firefighters were unable to reach the electrical box to shut off power to the home during the prosecution of the blaze, leaving crews in danger of electrical shocks. One firefighter was treated for unknown injuries on the scene.
