West Nashville, Brentwood Drug Bust Nets 30 Pounds Of Pot, 300 Grams Of Meth: TBI

Six people were arrested in West Nashville and Brentwood as the result of a two-year TBI and DEA investigation.

NASHVILLE, TN — Following an investigation that began in August 2015, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents along with the Drug Enforcement Administration, six people were arrested and charged with numerous drug charges as part of what investigators say is a large-scale drug trafficking operation.

Investigators executed a search warrants at a home on Downey Drive, off Davidson Road in West Nashville and at a residence on Cooks Court in Brentwood. Thirty pounds of marijuana were seized at the Downey Drive home, according to the TBI

  • Adan Cruz Barragan, 29, of Mexico. Charged with possession with intent, conspiracy of controlled substance (marijuana) and conspiracy of controlled substance meth. He is held on a $400,000 bond.
  • Daniel Matus Torres, 30, of Mexico. Charged with possession with intent and conspiracy of controlled substance (marijuana). He is held on a $300,000 bond.
  • Abelardo Cruz Barragan, 34, of Brentwood. Charged with conspiracy of controlled substance (meth) and conspiracy of controlled substance (marijuana). He is held on a $300,000 bond.
  • Ricky Lee Daniel, 41, of Franklin. He is charged with possession with intent and conspiracy of a controlled substance. He is held on a $125,000 bond.
  • Carlos Martinez Garza, 44, of La Grulla, Texas. Charged with possession with intent and conspiracy of controlled substance (marijuana). He is held on a $300,000 bond.
  • Daniel Arreola, 26, of Rio Grande City, Texas. Charged with possession with intent and conspiracy of controlled substance. He is held on a $300,000 bond.

Investigators say more arrests are likely.
