Fuel Up For United Way During Pilot Pumpers Oct. 5-7

Fuel up, enjoy a coffee or grab a snack to help the Knoxville community during the 28th annual Pilot Pumpers. From Oct. 5-7, visit any Pilot Convenience Store in Knox County, and Pilot will donate five cents of every gallon of gasoline sold and 10 cents of every dollar spent in-store to the United Way of Greater Knoxville.

“Pilot Pumpers has been a way for our guests to show their Volunteer spirit and make a difference in our community by supporting the United Way of Greater Knoxville,” Pilot Founder Jim Haslam said. “Now, more than ever, the United Way is ready and able to help many people in East Tennessee. Mark your calendars for Oct. 5-7 to fuel up and help make a difference.”

To prioritize the health and safety of guests and local celebrities, Pilot Pumpers will not have on-site pumpers greeting guests in 2020. Despite not being able to have celebrities and local leaders at the pumps, Pilot remains committed to partnering with the community and the United Way to raise funds and support the increased need for relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re staying apart but working together to make our community stronger for everyone,” Haslam said.

Pilot Pumpers is the single-largest special event fundraiser for the United Way of Greater Knoxville’s annual campaign. The 2019 event results totaled $97,186, and since its inception in 1992, the event has raised more than $1.5 million for United Way.

Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Pilot operates 38 convenience stores in Tennessee.
