• Dyan Christine Boyd (mississippivalleypublishing.com) — Blairsville neighbors are mourning the passing of 68-year-old resident Dyan Christine Boyd, who died peacefully at home on May 13. Remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and pet owner, she leaves behind sons in Blairsville and Snellville, extended family across several states, and her beloved grandson. Per her wishes, no formal memorial service is planned. 
• O'Neal Gets Another One As Lucas Hits Nebraska (speedsport.com) — Blairsville’s own Jonathan Davenport grabbed a solid fifth-place finish and $2,500 in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska. The 40-lap main saw Hudson O’Neal charge from seventh to win, while Davenport kept Blairsville on the leaderboard against a deep national field of dirt late model stars.
