Knox County Sheriff's Office: Phone Scam Alert

The Knox county sheriffs office will never collect fees. All collections are handled via Knox county court services in person.

It’s that time again! We have had reports of people being notified via phone calls that they have warrants for their arrest and an attempt is being made to collect funds for arrest. They will start the conversation as if someone will meet them or come to their residence to collect payment. These scammers have been known to target the elderly and become very convincing and authoritative to victims. Don’t fall for it!

Rest assured, if you have outstanding warrants, we will come to you. We normally do not call first. We suggest you hang up and block any callers that may be trying to get you to pay fees over the phone.
