Antioch Man Killed In Smyrna Wreck

A fatal wreck on Interstate 24 shut down the road for three hours early Tuesday.

SMYRNA, TN — An Antioch man was killed late Monday night in a three-car crash also involving a semi-truck on Interstate 24 late Monday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said 49-year-old Rudra Subba of Antioch was entering the interstate at the Almaville Road exit when he stopped abruptly, causing his Toyota Corolla to be hit from behind. The Corolla was pushed into the roadway, where it was hit by a semi. Subba was killed in the crash. His passenger, who was not identified, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The vehicle which hit Subba's car was hit from behind by a third car, spinning it too into the roadway.

The right lane of Interstate 24 west were closed until about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday as crews cleaned up the scene and the THP investigated the accident.
