Man Airlifted After Industrial Accident at Smyrna Nissan Plant
A victim was taken by helicopter from the Nissan plant in Smyrna to Vanderbilt University Medical Center around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

SMYRNA, TN — A critically injured worker was airlifted after an industrial accident at Smyrna's Nissan plant Wednesday.
Crews were called to the plant shortly before 11 Wednesday morning and the victim — whose identity and condition are unknown — was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center shortly thereafter.
"The employee's family members have been notified and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time," Parul Bajaj, Nissan spokesperson, told the Daily News Journal. The DNJ noted the last serious incidents at the plant were in 2012 and 2013.
