Fatal Wreck Shuts Down I-24 Near Smyrna Early Monday
One person was killed and another injured in a three-car crash on I-24 near Sam Ridley Parkway Monday morning.

SMYRNA, TN — One person was killed and another seriously injured after a three-car crash near Sam Ridley Parkway on Interstate 24 early Monday morning.
An extended cab truck and a car collided on the interstate just after 3:30 a.m., shutting down the interstate. The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed that one person was killed in the wreck and another taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed for nearly three hours during the initial investigation and clean-up.
