Feds Want Indicted Rutherford County Sheriff Jailed After Labor Day Domestic Violence Call

No charges were filed after Robert Arnold's wife alleged the sheriff had become violent after drinking.

NASHVILLE, TN β€” Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to revoke the pre-trial release of indicted Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold after the details of a Labor Day domestic violence call at his Murfreesboro home were released.

Megan Arnold told the TBI that her husband had been drinking on Labor Day and that he blocked her from entering their bedroom. She then β€œreached through the door opening, twisted the defendant’s nipple,” according to paperwork filed Thursday in Arnold's federal fraud and conspiracy case related to an allege e-cigarette scheme at the Rutherford County Jail involving Arnold, his chief deputy and his uncle.

Arnold then allegedly β€œpushed Mrs. Arnold to the floor and punched her in her right arm near her shoulder.”
Megan Arnold then β€œkicked the defendant.” Robert Arnold then allegedly β€œgrabbed a belt and wrapped it around Mrs. Arnold in an attempt to drag her out of the room without leaving marks on her body.” She slipped out of the belt and the sheriff β€œpinned her on the bed with his body.”
