La Vergne House Fire Kills 4 Pets, Injures Man
A La Vergne man was injured while unsuccessfully trying to save his pets from a Tuesday night house fire.

LA VERGNE, TN — A La Vergne man is being treated for smoke inhalation after trying unsuccessfully to save pets from a house fire Tuesday night.
The fire on John D. Street broke out some time between 9:45 and 11 p.m. and when fire crews arrived, flames were shooting out of the side of the house. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Middle Tennessee Patch morning newsletter.)
The house was home to several pets. Four of the animals died in the fire. The man was injured trying to save the animals.
