SMYRNA, TN — Near-record high temperatures will finally give way to cooler weather later in the week, according to the National Weather Service forecast for La Vergne and Smyrna. There's one small chance of rain Thursday.

Monday: Partly sunny with a high of 84. Mostly clear after dark for trick or treating, low of 59.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high of 87. A clear night with a low of 58.

Wednesday: Sunny once more, high of 82. Partly cloudy after sundown, low of 60.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers, otherwise partly sunny and cooler, high of 78. Mostly cloudy overnight, low of 51.
