SMYRNA, TN — A potentially dicey situation will start the week, according to the National Weather Service forecast for La Vergne and Smyrna. Rain, wind and storms are expected through Wednesday, followed by cooler temperatures.

Monday: A slight chance of showers and storms to start the day, then a 70 percent chance after noon. Otherwise, cloudy with a high of 67. Winds of 15 to 25 mph gusting to 35 mph. Rain and possibly storms virtually certain after dark, low of 52. Winds of 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 5 to 15 mph later. Gusts of 40 mph possible.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high of 73. An 80 percent chance of showers and storms into the night, low of 53.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers before noon, otherwise cloudy, high of 63. Partly cloudy after sundown, low of 37.

Thursday: Sunny and cooler, high of 52. Clear overnight, low of 31.
