LA VERGNE, TN — Much cooler temperatures are in store after Friday night's rain, according to the National Weather Service forecast for La Vergne and Smyrna. A freeze watch is in effect for Saturday night into Sunday.
Friday night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, particularly before 3 a.m. South winds of 10 to 15 mph veering northwest after midnight, gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. A low of 41.
Saturday: Sunny and cooler with a high of 52. Northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Mostly clear and colder overnight, with patchy frost after 2 a.m., low of 29.
