La Vergne Woman Faces Federal Fraud Charges
La Vergne's LaShane Hayes is accused of defrauding a federal food program.

NASHVILLE, TN — A La Vergne woman is facing federal fraud charges, accused of siphoning funds from a food program for low-income children.
LeShane Hayes, 43, is the director of All About Giving, Inc., which was a sponsor agency for the Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Feeding Program, which re-imburses child care providers for meals for low-income children.
According to an indictment, Hayes and her unnamed co-conspirators overstated the number of All About Giving providers who actually furnished meals to children and by overstating the number of children who received meals in order to receive more funds from the Tennessee Department of Human Services. The total amount of CACFP funds provided to All About Giving between February 2015 and July 2016 by the Tennessee Department of Human Services was nearly $2.2 million.
