Rutherford County Unemployment Rate Falls In March
The jobless rate fell in 91 of Tennessee's 95 counties in March and was down to 3.6 percent in Rutherford County.

NASHVILLE, TN — The unemployment rate in Rutherford County was 3.6 percent in March, down 0.1 percent from the February number, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The jobless rate fell in 91 of Tennessee's 95 counties in March.
That gives Rutherford County the third-lowest unemployment rate in the state once again, trailing just neighboring Williamson (3.3 percent) and Davidson (3.4). Of the 10 lowest county numbers, nine were in Middle Tennessee.

In the last year, the Rutherford County jobless number has jumped 0.2 percent.
The city-level rate in La Vergne was 3.8 percent, up 0.1 from February, and in Smyrna 3.5 percent, down 0.1.

The state rate, reported last week, is 5.1 percent, down 0.2 percent from February's adjusted figure.
