Sam Ridley To Be Widened, Smyrna Official Says
Smyrna's Town Manager tells the Daily News Journal that Sam Ridley Parkway will get additional lanes between I-24 and Old Nashville Highway.

SMYRNA, TN — Sam Ridley Parkway is due to get extra lanes from Interstate 24 to Old Nashville Highway, Smyrna's town manager told the Daily News Journal.
Improvements to Sam Ridley are not currently on the Metropolitan Planning Organization's Transportation Improvement Plan; it would need to be added to be eligible for funding from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Smyrna Town Manager Harry Gill told the DNJ he is "confident" an agreement will come to fruition between TDOT and Smyrna.

"We will put in $2 million and TDOT would contribute an additional $3 million toward major improvements on Sam Ridley, including widening from Old Nashville Highway to I-24," he told the paper, estimating the work will take two to three years.
Gill also told the DNJ the town wants to build a cut-through road from Sam Ridley to Chaney Road in an effort to open up more commercial development and alleviate congestion.
