Smyrna Police Investigate 'Casino-Style' Gambling At Hotel
Two people were detained after a search warrant was served on the Smyrna Candlewood Suites as part of a gambling investigation.
SMYRNA, TN — Smyrna Police executed a search warrant at the Candlewood Suites on Sam Ridley Parkway Tuesday afternoon as part of an on-going investigation into a "casino-style" gambling operation at the hotel.
Officers seized over $18,000, a small amount of narcotics, and gambling paraphernalia. Russell Hairr and George Barton were charged with aggravated promotion of gambling and possession of gambling devices.

Hairr is held on $11,000 bond, and $17,000 for Barton. The investigation is ongoing and more charges may be levied.
