Suspect in November La Vergne Shootout Arrested
On the run for more than two months, Joshua Simmons was arrested Monday by La Vergne Police.

LA VERGNE, TN — After more than two months on the lam, the suspect in a strange midafternoon shootout in La Vergne in November was arrested Monday.
Joshua Simmons, 27, was taken into custody by La Vergne Police Monday on five charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
Simmons was identified as the prime suspect in the November 22 inter-vehicle shootout at the intersection of Nir Shreibman Boulevard and Murfreesboro Road.

Investigators said Simmons fired shots at another vehicle at the intersection. The other man was wounded and exited his car, which caused the vehicle to strike a third, uninvolved car.
