A 56-year-old woman is charged with DUI after a crash shut down I-24 near Almaville Road Tuesday.

SMYRNA, TN — A 56-year-old woman is facing drunken driving charges following a Tuesday morning wreck that shut down a stretch of Interstate 24 West near Smyrna for more than eight hours.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Honda Prius and a semi-truck were travelling side-by-side around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when the Prius lost control and hydroplaned in front of the tractor-trailer. The driver of the semi swerved hard in an effort to avoid hitting the Honda and overturned. Westbound lanes were blocked until nearly 7 p.m. Tuesday during the investigation, clean-up and righting of the truck.
The driver of the Prius, Kimberly Law, 56, is charged with DUI.
