Woman Jumps From Waldron Road Overpass On To I-24
Westbound lanes of Interstate 24 were closed for nearly three hours after a woman's suicide.
LA VERGNE, TN — Interstate 24 was closed for nearly three hours at the Waldron Road exit Monday after a woman died after jumping from the overpass.
The City of La Vergne said the woman jumped from the bridge shortly before 10 a.m.. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and La Vergne Police closed the westbound lanes of the interstate at mile marker 64, diverting traffic around the scene.
The investigation also slowed traffic on the eastbound side of the interstate, which was fully re-opened before 1 p.m.
