ā¢ Scholarship honors late radio personality Stewart 'Stewman' Byars (utm.edu) ā A beloved Northwest Tennessee radio voice with deep ties to Martin is being honored through the Stewart Byars Excellence in Radio Production Award for UT Martin students. Friends and former Thunderbolt Radio colleagues have boosted the scholarship to $2,000, using UT Martinās Captainās Challenge to help secure long-term funding. ā¢ Lawrence's Hit By Pitch Helps Skyhawks Walk Off Belmont (utmsports.com) ā UT Martin baseball fans in Martin saw a dramatic 9-8 walk-off win over Belmont when Andrew Lawrence was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Lawrence and several Skyhawks piled up multi-hit nights as UT Martin moved to 20-20. The team now turns its focus to a key home conference series against Eastern Illinois starting Friday, April 24.
