Immersion Program for Teachers and Coaches Through CBU

The Lasallian Institute for the Formation of Teachers (LIFT) is a unique formation program designed to inspire and prepare young men to become teachers and coaches, with a particular emphasis on serving in Lasallian Christian Brothers schools. As Lasallian educators, we believe students benefit from having strong male role models in the classroom, yet fewer than 18% of teachers in private schools are men. LIFT is working to help change that by inviting young men to consider teaching as a vocation, developing their skills through immersive educational experiences, and forming them in the values and mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Through classroom learning, coaching, service, cultural immersion, and hands-on experiences, LIFT is preparing the next generation of men to lead, teach, coach, and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Currently, there is no cost for students to participate in the program, as LIFT is funded through grants. Each participating student also receives 31 college credits through Lewis University in Chicago.

LIFT is currently in its second year, and we are beginning recruitment for our third cohort.
