Synthetic kratom, $1 million in cash seized from Memphis wholesaler (wreg.com) — Law enforcement seized five pallets of illegal synthetic kratom, marijuana products, and about $1 million in cash from a Memphis wholesaler on Broad Street in Binghampton. Officials say Novelty King supplied retailers across West Tennessee and stress that chemically manipulated kratom is now illegal in Tennessee, warning local shops and residents that selling it can bring serious felony charges.
   

2. Superintendent says MSCS has reviewed each of state's 480 recommendations in audit (actionnews5.com) — Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Roderick Richmond says the district has reviewed and assigned responsibility for all 480 recommendations from the state's forensic audit. While auditors flagged about $54.2 million in potentially problematic transactions from 2021–2024, Richmond emphasizes there were no formal findings and pledges continued work to strengthen how Memphis schools handle operations and finances.
   

3. Shana and Jacob Warren safely located, Southaven police say (desotocountynews.com) — A Southaven teen mom and her infant, last known to be headed by Uber to the N Watkins and Whitney area in Memphis, have been safely located, police say. Southaven officers thanked residents for sharing information after issuing a regional alert. The update closes a case that had focused attention on that specific North Memphis neighborhood.
   

5. Memphis mother shares family's story of hope during Down Syndrome Awareness Month (fox13memphis.com) — A Memphis mother is opening up about her daughter Faith's journey with Down syndrome, from early surgeries to thriving in local programs like Shepherd's Haven.
