2. They Called 15 Times: Inside a Social Security Disability Scam Targeting Rutherford County (wgnsradio.com) — Scammers are bombarding Murfreesboro-area residents with repeated phone calls promising to fast-track Social Security disability benefits, then coaching them to give personal and banking details. The scheme uses multiple operators, fake legal “intake centers,” and even 15 back-to-back calls to appear legitimate, so locals are urged to hang up and never share sensitive information.

3. Health Inspectors Find Spoiled Food, Repeat Violations At Local Restaurants (rutherfordsource.com) — Recent health inspections turned up spoiled food, temperature issues, and repeat violations at several Rutherford County restaurants, including multiple spots on Broad Street and Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro. Inspectors embargoed dozens of pounds of unsafe food and ordered quick follow-up visits, while reminding residents that reports must be posted and complaints can go to the state hotline.

Puckett's Restaurant announces Cullman closure after almost 4 years (cullmantribune.com) — Puckett’s is closing its Cullman, Alabama, and Hendersonville, Tennessee, restaurants this week, but the Murfreesboro location will remain open as one of six surviving Tennessee sites. The company cites tough economic conditions and says it will refocus on longer-established communities while helping affected employees transition and honoring existing gift cards at its remaining restaurants.
