270 Pounds Of Pot Seized From Texas Father-Son Team: Nashville Police

Metro Police detectives allegedly discovered more than 270 pounds of marijuana hidden in a camper trailer.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police detectives and DEA agents seized more than 270 pounds of marijuana hidden in a camper trailer Monday, arresting a Texas father and son.

Steven A. Smith, 26, and his father, David Ray Smith, 53, both of Tomball, Texas, were hauling the marijuana to Nashville in a camper being pulled by a pickup truck, investigators said.

Both men are charged with marijuana possession for resale. They are being held in lieu of $80,000 bond each.

The Smiths arrest affidavits suggest the existence of other co-defendants involved in a "conspiracy" to transport the marijuana, though no other arrests have yet been made.
