2nd Annual Freeborn Jam Benefit with BlackHawk & The Outlaws October 14

Benefit concert, silent auction and fan gathering at City Winery benefits Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and MusiCares

Nashville, TN – On Saturday, October 14, multi-platinum country band BlackHawk and southern rock legends The Outlaws bring their second annual Freeborn Jam benefit concert to City Winery in Nashville. Last year’s sellout event raised $40,000 for two organizations: the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, through BlackHawk’s Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund, and MusiCares, The Outlaws’ charity of choice.

Tickets for the benefit are on sale now. Ticket prices start at $25 for balcony seats and range up to $40 for premier seating in the intimate venue. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a silent auction; the show starts at 8 p.m. City Winery is located at 609 Lafayette Street in downtown Nashville.

Through a career spanning more than 7 million albums sold and multiple chart hits, BlackHawk is a band known and loved for distinctive harmonies and electrifying live performances. The Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund, which benefits the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, was established in honor of the band’s late founding member. To date, more than $100,000 has been raised through the Fund.

For more than 40 years, The Outlaws have been touring, writing and recording, becoming one of the most beloved and enduring bands in the southern rock genre. The band’s latest album, Legacy Live, was released in 2016, and the Legacy Live Tour continues through the end of the year. The Outlaws’ charity of choice is MusiCares, which provides financial assistance for uninsured musicians’ health care costs.

“This is our annual fan appreciation party and charity concert,” said Henry Paul, lead singer of both bands. “The entire proceeds figure in very importantly with our annual charity efforts for both bands. Come out and support our effort to find a cure and help those in need.”
